Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

Moving from primary to secondary school is an exciting milestone in every pupil's journey of academic and self-development. At Wanstead High, we understand that this transition can bring a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. That’s why we have a comprehensive and supportive transition programme to help our new Year 7 students feel confident, welcomed, and ready to thrive.

From dedicated induction days and taster lessons to peer mentoring and pastoral support, we ensure every child has the tools they need to settle in smoothly. Our staff work closely with primary schools to understand each pupil's strengths and needs, ensuring a positive and nurturing start to secondary life.

We’re proud of our inclusive community where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. The journey to Year 7 is just the beginning—and we’re here every step of the way.
