Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE)
Welcome to the Wanstead High School Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
We have delivered the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) scheme for many years and are excited to continue to offer such an enriching programme to our young people.
The DofE is a nationally recognised award that perfectly illustrates the school’s commitment to providing high quality extracurricular activities to complement excellent academic attainment.
The components of the award also reflect our desire to equip pupils with relevant life skills that will also serve them well as they make their way towards the next step in their education and employment.
We offer both the Bronze and Silver Award, which is open to pupils from Years 9-12.
Pupils will achieve the award by completing activities in the following categories:
Volunteering: Undertaking service to individuals or the community.
Physical: Improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.
Skills: Developing practical and social skills and personal interests.
Expedition: Planning, training and the completion of an adventurous journey in the UK.
