Information for Year 6 Transition
Dear Year 6 Pupil and Families,
I am writing this letter on what should have been your induction day here at Wanstead High School. We had planned a great day of taster lessons and time to meet your new classmates for Thursday 2nd July. Sadly we are not able to do that this year. However we are more determined than ever to make sure you are looked after properly when you come to our school, and that you feel reassured that you have made the right choice.
We have put together lots more information on our website: from next week you will find a Year 6 Transition Tab on the website. This will include presentations, key points of contact and other useful information.
We have also made sure that on the first day of term next year (Thursday September 3rd), we will have only our new students in school (Year 7 and our new Sixth Formers in Year 12). This will give you plenty of time and space to find out about the school and to find your way around: I promise you won’t get lost!
Your new Head of Year, Ms Murray, is looking forward to making sure your start at secondary school is as smooth as ever: even though there are many things that have been different about this year, we remain committed to looking after the well-being of our students above anything else.
I hope you find the information on the website useful, and I am really looking forward to seeing you all on September 3rd. We will write to you again over the summer holidays with exact times and any other information. In the meantime, I hope that you all stay safe and enjoy the summer break.
