Drama and Dance
In years 7-9 students develop the necessary skills to enable them to perform and respond to drama. They are introduced to improvisation, text-work, Shakespeare, naturalistic and non-naturalistic drama. Students will learn to direct others, to create their own scripts and look at the physical and technical aspects of theatre.
At GCSE we offer Drama and at AS and A Level we offer courses in Drama &Theatre Studies
Dance is part of the curriculum for all students in years 7-9 and is offered as an option at GCSE, AS and A Level.
Many of our students are given the opportunity to take part in workshops led by professional Drama and Dance practitioners. Our team have worked with many arts organisations, inluding the Almeida, Barbican, Donmar Warehouse, Frantic Assembly, National Theatre, Old Vic, Roundhouse, Royal Court, Royal Opera House , Shakespeare's Globe and the Theatre Royal Stratford East to provide students with amazing learning experiences.
For examples please have a look at our Spotlight Newsletters.
The team encourage students to gain experience of performance by taking part in our school productions, Drama and Dance festivals and talent shows. Have a look at our galleries for a glimpse of just a few of these productions
