Year 13

Year 13 students should now be finalising their UCAS choices and working on their personal statements (there is lots of support available via the Google Classroom HE room).

Year 13 students should also be attending University Open Days to finalise their choices. (Details can be found at www.opendays.com).

Year 12

Year 12 students should be beginning to engage with university research by looking at  the following programmes and taster sessions.

Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP)

The APP supports high achieving Year 12 students from low income backgrounds across the UK to access competitive universities and careers. We offer support through our four pillars:

  • Mentoring by a professional via email
  • Tailored skills sessions and career workshops
  • University application support and guidance
  • Internships with top employers

How students receive our four pillars of support is dependent on where they live. Further details below.

Watch our video to hear from SMF students.

Students must apply by 9am, Monday 4th December 2017 by completing our application form here.

Google Classroom link

“Students have passwords to use ‘Google Classroom’ and within this portal is the ‘Year 12 HE Classroom’. Parents/guardians should ask the students to show them this room and the information linked from it. It includes links to summer schools, personal statement writing guidance, university league tables and the talks delivered at our HE evening.” The login must be xxxxxxxxx@elearning.wansteadhigh.co.uk  (the x’s differ for each student and are usually a combination of first name surname a colour and a number) NB if students are already logged in to Google with a different e-mail account the Google Classroom will not work.”
