Religion & Philosophy
At Key Stage 3 we lead students in an exploration of the beliefs, practices and meaning of the main religious traditions. We aim to develop critical thinking and an ability to consider different philosophical perspectives. In year nine pupils consider the philosophical questions that religion seeks to answer, and explore what it means to be religious in today’s world.
We begin GCSE topics in year nine to give all pupils the option of gaining a full course GCSE in Religion and Philosophy. At AS and A Level we offer Philosophy & Ethics (Religious Studies).
How you can help
Make sure that homework tasks are completed to the highest possible standard and in the case of research that the library and internet are used. Encourage your child in discussing their views on moral, spiritual and philosophical questions.
