History

During years 7 to 9 we aim to ensure that our students develop both knowledge and understanding of a range of periods and key historical events.  Students learn how events can be interpreted in different ways and develop research skills enabling them to extract important information from various sources.  By year 9 students will assess competing interpretations and use evidence to draw their own conclusions.

History is studied at GCSE, AS and A Level and Classical Civilisation is offered at AS and A Level.

How you can help

Try and visit historical places on holiday.  In London look out for special exhibitions and events at The Museum of London, the Imperial War Museum, the British Museum and the V&A.  For a glimpse at key characters why not try the National Portrait Gallery.
